The Hospice of Dayton began services over 30 years ago in the Miami Valley, helping patients and families at the end-of-life. One of the first hospices founded in the United States in 1978, the organization has served tens of thousands of patients and families facing terminal illnesses. It is a non-profit, community supported hospice, accepting all patients regardless of ability to pay. The Hospice of Dayton currently serves an average of over 600 patients daily in Montgomery, Greene, Clark, Preble, Clinton, Miami, Butler and Warren Counties. Patients with a variety of life-limiting illnesses including heart and pulmonary diseases, cancer Alzheimer's/Dementia, AIDS/HIV, kidney, liver and neurological diseases can benefit from improved quality of life through hospice care. Along with the fundamental mission of addressing the needs of patients and families, The Hospice of Dayton is also committed to serving as a community resource for end-of-life education and an advocate for patient self-determination.
